“The Gluten Effect Symposium”
Saturday, October 5, 2013 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Over the past 8 1/2 years, we have partnered with area chef who have entertained food enthusiasts from the Greater Hamilton, Halton, Niagara regions providing with mouth-watering recipes featuring local foods and produce.
But, we have also seen so many more food restrictions and “gluten” is leading the pack. While researching Gluten on the internet we came across a variety of questions that I am sure you have all heard as well….”What effect does gluten have on us?” “Can we die if we have Celiac disease?” “Do we need to carry an EpiPen if we have a wheat allergy?” “Gluten is an extremely unhealthy for us. Why aren’t there more gluten free menus provided by restaurants?” “How do I get reliable information on whether there is gluten in a food.” “I have stopped eating gluten, why have I not lost weight?” ” I feel so much better now that I am no longer eating gluten”
One thing we did find is that information is abundant on the internet but credibility is not!!
Our symposium will offer an opportunity for dialogue with some of the area’s experts in holistic medicine, restaurant industry, food production and developers, the Canadian Celiac Association; You’ll have an opportunity to speak with the experts, get some ideas, information and help. We’ll have a few food demonstrations and recipes to offer and we’ll have some food manufacturers as well.

Easy Entertaining Bruschetta Bread

- Ready Time :
- 1 large Y’ad Never Know Brushetta flat bread
- 5 clove Roasted garlic with the oil
- 1.5 cups feta cheese crumbled
- 6 medium Plum tomatoes diced and seeded
- .5 large Red onion diced
- 1/2 cup Fresh basil
- salt and pepper
Preheat oven at 375f Spread garlic over top of crust. Add remaining ingredients to top of crust Sprinkle with salt and pepper Bake for 8 minutes.
